Life couldn’t be better for 16-year-old Steffi: She has successfully finished school, will soon start her training as a police officer and is looking forward to the class trip to Paris, where she wants to spend her first night with her boyfriend Fabian in a romantic hotel. The only thing left to do is a health check for the police, then off they go. But the check turns out to be negative. After a thorough examination Steffi is diagnosed with bronchial carcinoma. The cancer is incurable. Steffi’s mother collapses and insists on chemotherapy. Steffi is supposed to start chemotherapy immediately and thus give up the trip to Paris. As a consolation, her father gives her an old pickup truck to go there at a later time. But Steffi wants to go to Paris now! Totally distraught, she meets slightly older motorbike acrobat Steve, who was on the brink of taking his own life. When Steffi tells him about the cancelled trip, he just asks if she has a car. They fetch the pickup truck, which is supposed to take “suicide and hayseed”, as Steve and Steffi call themselves, to Paris.
Gott, du kannst ein Arsch sein!
